Dawn Tyler Watson & Ben Racine

All eyes and ears were pleasantly stunned and astounded at the 2017 Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge as Montreal's Dawn Tyler Watson with the Ben Racine Band became the first woman in 25 years to seize the “Best Blues Band” title. Watson is no stranger to musical success and recognition. She has won numerous awards. She has been a recipient of three Maple Blues Awards, including two for best female Blues vocalist in Canada, nine Quebec Lyse awards, a Screamin Jay Hawkins Award for Best Live Performance and a Trophee France Blues for International Female Artist of the Year.

Not only did Ben Racine earn the honor of winning 2017 Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge “Best Blues Band” title with Montreal's Dawn Tyler Watson, but Ben Racine also became an Albert King “Best Guitar Performance” recipient at the fervent annual event. Racine delivers cutting-edge guitar work that has been cut in the mold of Blues Master like Willie Dixon, Howlin' Wolf & Muddy Waters. From the very first listen one can hear and feel the old school Blues oozing out of his guitar frets. Racine is a throwback with a superb modern reflection and take on the genre. He's a man that cooks up riffs and vocals with a solid well-seasoned conviction that's double dipped in tradition and innovation. It's a wonderful, crowd-pleasing recipe.
