Ghalia Volt
Ghalia Volt is a Belgian-born singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose restless spirit has carried her from the streets of Brussels to the clubs of New Orleans, the hill country of Mississippi, and now the high desert of California. After acclaimed albums Let The Demons Out and Mississippi Blend — both praised by Classic Rock, NME, and more — she broke new ground with her solo One Woman Band project, touring the U.S. by train and van during the pandemic.
Her latest release, Shout Sister Shout!, was recorded at the legendary Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree with producer David Catching (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal). Infused with desert atmosphere, the record expands her rootsy blues into psychedelic ’70s rock and hook-filled modern grooves, backed by an all-star band including veterans of Dr. John and Lou Reed. From fierce anthems like the title track to hypnotic road songs and raw blues, Volt delivers a bold, electrifying sound and a fearless call for women to raise their voices.
